What's My Tesla Worth?

Free market value estimate based on 68,000+ tracked Tesla sales — adjusted for your battery health. Better than KBB for Teslas.

Why our Tesla valuations are different

Generic car-value tools weren't built for EVs. We were.

68,000+ tracked sales

Every valuation is anchored to real Teslas sold in the last 90 days — not generic depreciation curves.

Battery-aware pricing

We factor in your Tesla's estimated state of health using Tesla's own range data — a $5,000+ swing on the same model/year.

Tesla Trade-In Value: Estimator & What to Expect

The estimate above doubles as a trade-in calculator: it shows your Tesla's private-sale value and an instant-offer range, which is where dealer and trade-in quotes land. Expect any trade-in offer to sit 10–20% under private-party — that gap is the price of convenience. Before accepting one, compare your options: Tesla's trade-in quote (usually the lowest), an instant-offer service, real cash offers from Tesla-specialist dealers through TeslaTracker, or listing it yourself to capture the full retail price.

Tesla Resale Value & Depreciation in 2026

From our tracked-sales curves, here's roughly how much of its original price each model keeps as it ages — the same data behind every estimate on this page:

ModelAfter 1 yearAfter 3 yearsAfter 5 years
Model 380%59%45%
Model Y82%64%50%
Model S75%52%38%
Model X78%55%40%
Cybertruck80%58%43%

Model Y holds value best; Model S and X depreciate fastest — and since Tesla ended S/X production in 2026, their used market is still finding its level. Battery health moves any individual car ±10% around these curves, which is why the estimator checks yours. Watch how the whole market is moving on our live price trends.

Frequently Asked Questions

How does this valuation tool work?
We track every used Tesla sold in the United States via Tesla's own inventory system. When you enter your model, year, trim, and mileage, we find the most similar Teslas sold in the last 90 days and compute a weighted average price (recency + mileage proximity). Then we adjust for your estimated battery state of health — a key value driver for EVs that traditional tools miss.
Why does battery health affect my Tesla's value?
Each 1% drop in battery state of health (SOH) reduces an EV's resale value by 1.2–1.6% on Model 3/Y, and up to 2% on Model S/X (according to research from Recurrent Auto and Black Book). The difference between a Tesla at 92% SOH vs 75% SOH can be $5,000+ on the same model, year, and mileage. We compute SOH from Tesla's own range estimate (when we have your VIN) or estimate it from mileage and age.
Is this more accurate than KBB or Edmunds?
For Teslas, yes — and for two reasons. (1) KBB/Edmunds use general dealer transaction data that includes few Tesla private-party sales; we use Tesla's actual used inventory, which is where most used Teslas trade. (2) Neither KBB nor Edmunds adjusts for battery health, which is the single biggest pricing variable unique to EVs.
How recent is the sold-vehicle data?
We use sales from the last 90 days. The matching algorithm weights recent sales more heavily (30-day half-life), so a Tesla sold last week influences your estimate more than one sold 80 days ago.
What if my exact trim doesn't have many sales?
Our matching cascades through four tiers: Precise (same trim + year ±1 + mileage ±15K + same FSD + same history), Similar (looser mileage, drops history), Broad (same drive class, year ±2), Very Broad (any trim, year ±2). The result shows the confidence level so you know which tier the estimate uses.
Will you actually let me list my Tesla?
Yes. Direct-to-buyer Tesla listings are now live on TeslaTracker — list in 5 minutes for $29 (Basic) or $49 (Boost) for 30 days. Use this valuation as your asking-price anchor, and we'll attach a free AutoCheck history to every used listing.
How much will a dealer give me on a Tesla trade-in?
Trade-in offers typically run 10-20% below private-party value — the dealer needs margin to recondition and resell. Our estimator shows both numbers: the private-sale value and an instant-offer range, so you can see exactly what accepting a trade-in's convenience costs. If the gap is big, listing it yourself or taking dealer cash offers through TeslaTracker usually nets more.
Does Tesla buy back cars?
No — Tesla discontinued its resale-value guarantee years ago and has no buyback program. Your options are Tesla's own trade-in quote (typically the lowest), instant-offer services, dealer cash offers, or selling private-party, which usually nets the most. Start with the estimate above to know your baseline before taking any offer.
